pain

Andy is going to Primary Children's Hospital this friday. Please pray for him and us that we will receive goods news. I'll be honest... I'm pretty tired of wearing a smile and pretending this doesn't hurt like hell. I just don't want to deal with this- period. Sometimes I feel like people don't really understand how much pain I have been through over this topic, and if truth be told I hope they never do understand how I feel because the only way to understand is to experience it yourself. I don't really think even my husband or parents know the depths of sadness I've felt at times. Not because they don't care but because it's hard for me to put it in words. Sometimes when I look at my husband I know he knows because he feels it too. I'm not looking for sympathy or replies or emails, I just need to vent, get this out on to my blog so it's not stuck inside of me. One thing this has brought to my life; a greater appreciation for Our Saviour. He knows my pain because he's felt it. While Andy spent some time in the NICU I couldn't always be there so I taped a little picture of Jesus (who was smiling) in his crib because I knew he would feel comforted. Now I just need to look at that little picure myself, the same exact one that was in his crib and know that things will be okay because ultimately God is taking care of my son.

Andy Chases A Ball

Andy went to visit his Grandma Cindy and his Uncle James was there too. They had a ball there the rolled all by itself in a bazillion different directions. Andy thought this was a blast and chased it around their living room. He loves to visit his Grandma and she always has something fun for him to do!

My Baby Turned One!!!

What happened!? WHEN did this happen? Where was I? He was 4 pounds big yesterday, I swear. He's a little boy; crawling around getting into everything and throwing a tantrum when he doesn't get his way. Speaking of getting his way we celebrated his birthday February 8th and it was his day to be a prince. Both sets of grandparents came up to his party and lavished him with gifts. He has a spaghetti dinner (which he loved) and probably way too much cake. Here's some footage of the event and some pictures:

<----- Video Andy would also like to point out to everyone that as he was turning one his great-grandpa was turning 81! Happy Birthday Popsie! Andy loves being Birthday buddies with you!!!

Wise Words

I found this quote at Valerie's blog and thought it was so amazing it was worth repeating:

“It is not the usual purpose of prayer to serve us like Aladdin’s lamp, to bring us ease without effort. Prayer is not a matter of asking only. Often the purpose of prayer is to give us strength to do what needs to be done, wisdom to see the way to solve our own problems, and the ability to do our best in our tasks.”
Elder Richard L. Evans, The Man and the Message, [Salt Lake City: Bookcraft, 1973], 289

“May we never let the things we can't have, or don't have, or shouldn't have, spoil our enjoyment of the things we do have and can have. As we value our happiness let us not forget it, for one of the greatest lessons in life is learning to be happy without the things we cannot or should not have.”
Elder Richard L. Evans

February 7, 2009

Matthew and I are so happy to announce that on February 7, 2009 we were sealed for time and all eternity as a family in the Salt Lake Temple. We 'eloped' and invited only our witnesses and escorts. Because some very dear and important family members to us could not make it we decided that for our own sake it would be easier this way. We appreciate your understanding and love as you support us in this momentous decision we made. Going to the temple had always been our dream and we have been on cloud 9 ever since. The cherry on the icing was to have our beautiful son present, he looked just like a little angel. We are so blessed in so many ways and we always want to acknowledge our Father in Heaven whom we owe everything to. We could not have had a better day, and just in case you didn't know- it was also Andrew's 1st birthday! This will always be a day that will live in our memories.

With much love,
Matthew, Amber and Andrew Tingey

Va Va Va BOOM!!!!

After reading about our big announcement in my previous blog I thought I would post this. Here we are on our way to the temple. This video was taking minutes before we got into a car accident....

And this video was taken shortly after the accident happened:

*frowny face!* =( But our mood was not ruined and we still had such a beautiful day full of so many blessings. We are extremely lucky to have full coverage insurance and also that our angels were watching us because no one got hurt!

Va Va Vroom!

This is our sexy new car! We are SO excited to have it. It has power everything. The side doors will slide open and the trunk door will open with the push of a button. Another cool feature; there are sliding doors on both sides of the van. I always feel like I need 6 hands as a mother so this car has been a major luxury in my life. Just waving my keys and pressing a button and the car is open! I LOVE it! We have been extremely blessed. God has really helped us with financial decisions. We paid 8,100 dollars in medical bills this year (mostly for Andy) However, Matthew had the wisdom to purchase AFLAC which helped us pay all of our bills. We have also been able to take Christmas money and get ourselves out of most of our debts this year. This freed up enough room in our bills for us to be able to make this car payment. I really feel silly sometimes having such a nice car when there are so many people that go without. At those times I pray that the tithing we pay can reach those who God has intended it for. In this economic crisis I feel fortunate and I hope to one day help out others like so many people have helped out my family.

Andy The Entertainer

Andy absolutely loves pianos. Both of his Grandmothers have them at their homes. My mother actually majored in piano pedagogy. She's always filled my life with classical piano and Andrew seems quite taken with her musical talents as well. Andy does love classical music. However, of all the great musicians and composers out there I have never heard of one using their mouth to play. I think Andy should hurry and patent this idea. As any little baby will tell you... tasting something is better than feeling it!

I Love Primary!

I am just having a great time teaching primary. We live in a tiny, tiny ward so there are only 3 kids in my primary class, but it's such a fun class and they are really smart. The part that I love the most is that with each lesson I teach and I am probably learning more than the children are. I never paid attention in primary, or at least understood what was going on. I was always just nervous that I would somehow lose my parents. So, in preparing each lesson I am actually learning a lot that I didn't know. I am teaching the Docterine and Covenants so there's a lot of history to learn about. I am really loving church lately!

Cute Pictures

I used to be boy crazy in high school. If only
I had known then that these 3 boys would be the
loves of my life! Yes... and drive me a little crazy
too. I couldn't live without them!

Look how cute my little family is.

"What's cookin' good looking?"
NOTE: I know my grandma will go nuts
when she sees this so I have to tell her now;
no infants were hurt in the production of this
picture. I was right next to Andy close by and
the stove was definately NOT on. Haha

"I gotta get this monkey off my back..."

Andy and Uncle Jimmy Bob. By the way ladies... James is available!!! *wink wink* email me for his
number. Haha! He really is a sweet guy though.

Andy LOVES to pull all the DVDs off the shelf.
Matthew and I are constantly cleaning them up.
Here is a picture of him caught red-handed, or
actually with his pants falling down!
(oranged bottomed, I guess!)

Andy LOVES to pull the stuffed animal bug out
of the green jug and then put it back in.... out, in,
out, in, out, in- you get the picture. Grandpa Moo
gave this to him for Christmas.

Uncle Michael and Andy both sitting in the same pose.

Look at the drool dripping off his chin! You
can sort of see his teeth too, they are more noticable
today than they were in this picture.

I didn't steal a cookie from the cookie jar!!!

Does anyone need an alarm clock?

I live with this little guy that religiously wakes up once a night and at 6:45 on the dot every morning. I was just thinking that if someone is in need of an alarm clock they could just borrow Andrew for a few days. Okay, I'm only joking... I would miss him too much and I wouldn't know what to do with all my time!

More Video...

This little video is one that Matthew took of Andy while he was beating some markers in the air like they were drumsticks. I thought it was really cute so I wanted to post it here on my blog.
