I knew it would be messy but Andy always has a way of surpising me. I should never have specific expectations with that kid.
Yes this is dye, and my two year old is playing with it. And it is only 4 inches from the side of the table. The first egg he just threw into the dye and it broke. He figured out that you have to put the eggs in gentley.
Andy attempts to pull out his dyed egg with a little metal device. This is his pile of eggs. We had lots of fun decorating them with stickers and colorful shrink wrap. At the end we gathered up all the eggs and put them in a bowl. Andy was so excited he ran into the front room with them while I was cleaning up the rest of the egg mess. He sat down on the couch and promptly began throwing them on the carpet. To my horror I realized they were not hard boiled eggs. They were semi- boiled and still gooey. The dye hadn't dried either. Time to rent a rug doctor. But I would do it all again because Andy had a blast. Next time I'll be a little more careful ; 2 year old + dyed gooey egg = MESS!
