Sweet Dreaming

This picture cracks me up. Andy can fall asleep in the craziest positions. The funny thing is that
this is a rocking chair so when he moved a little bit the whole chair would wobble him back and forth. He still managed to stay on the chair but I'm sure the whole time he was dreaming he was on a boat in the middle of really choppy waves. Amazingly, he held on a never fell off.

Lucky Boys

This is a picture of Sammy and his 'Papa.' Lately, my kids have been able to see him a LOT! He just retired and my lucky boys get to see him and Nana nearly everyday. Sammy is completely obsessed with Papa. Andy is a real Nana's boy. Sammy is so obsessed with Papa that he will peer his little head over the couch to see out our window and any time a car drives past he will scream out "Papa!" and run to the door waiting for him. Sammy will ask every single day for his Papa, sometimes we just have to call him or Nana. The other day Sammy picked up a rock in the yard and and said "Show Papa!" He immediately ran out of the yard and started down the sidewalk towards our old duplex where he knows his Papa is always working. He was so upset when Papa wasn't there. I think Sammy thinks Papa lives close by and he can get to him whenever he wants. They are lucky boys to have such a close relationship with Nana and Papa!

Legoland 2012

We went to California for Andy's 4th birthday! We got to visit Legoland and Disneyland.
Both places are a little boy's heaven but Legoland was a little less crowded. It was
so fun to show the boys all the things made out of Legos and now they want to play with Legos
all the time. They got to go with their grand parents and great grand parents and of course Matthew
and I. We had an awesome time. I will post Disneyland pictures and Pops and Andy's birthday boy pictures soon!

Easter 2012

Andy and Sammy with their Easter baskets. They had to follow a trail of eggs to find them.

Andy sharing his candy with Sam. He's a pretty kind brother.

Make a wish!

Enjoying his Easter candy!

Andy started preschool! He is going to a school called CCNS, which stands
for co-operative community nursery school. He really loves his teacher Miss Terry. He asks me in the morning if it's time to go see Miss Terry and usually he is really excited to go. I am lucky enough to get to go to his class two times a month. I help out in the classroom and play with the kids. It's a lot of fun to be involved and see what he does while he's in class. He always brings home adorable little art projects. He LOVES show and tell. He was sooo excited to take his toys Jesse and Woody to class. He told me he wanted to show him his preschool and let them play with the other kids. I'm really glad he's doing so well and enjoying preschool.

Timid little Andy gets a baseball bat.

About a month ago I took Andy to the doctors because he had been throwing up on a constant basis. The poor little boy was blowing chunks everywhere we went. When we got there the doctor became alarmed that he had lost 7 pounds over the course of about 3 months. She sent him for x-rays and blood work. He was a little scared during the x-ray and I don't blame him it was a huge machine for a tiny little guy. Then we went over to blood work and that was a horrible nightmare. Horrible. They poked him several times, collapsed one of his veins, and blood was starting to get on me and him. He was screaming and kicking. I just finally decided to call it quits. We made an appointment to go up to Primary Children's and get the blood work done there. He knew where he was and he was very brave, he cried a little but he didn't fight it, he was just brave.

Lately, I've noticed that he has become a cautious little guy. He's very worried about getting hurt. He used to go on the McDonalds big slide and now he wont even climb into it. The other day he asked me to "catch him" off the baby slide that was less than a foot. It kind of breaks my heart that he's been through so much that he worries so much. But yesterday, when I went to pick him up from preschool he wasn't doing what he usually does; just standing around nervously. Instead this time he was having a blast!!! He was playing T-ball and running around the little bases and into home base. He was so excited that his teachers had to calm him down and make him wait his turn. He was putting his whole little heart into hitting that ball. He'd get so excited when he hit it he'd run around in circles and completely forget to run to all the bases. It made me so happy to watch him. It made my whole month. To see my son so happy and living and playing so hard. You know on the movie 'Fried Green Tomatoes" how Kathy Bateman says 'tawanda'? As he was playing baseball I kept thinking 'taAndy!!!!' He's an amazing little guy and I'm so proud of him. I'm going to sign him up for a little baseball league.

We bought a HOUSE!!!!

Okay, well honestly this post is really, really overdue because we closed on the house at the end of February. However, we haven't moved into it yet because of extensive remodeling. (As in, drive yourself crazy if you try to do it all yourself- get a contractor- type remodeling) There was a fire (we think stove fire) in the kitchen and the house has been gutted. We bought it as a foreclosure from freddie mac. The previous owners were trying to renovate it as well but gave up after not properly getting building permits. (Getting permits= pain in the butt!) It's 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom but we have split into and upstairs downstairs duplex. The part we love the most is the huge yard!

We are so excited! It's feels great to own our own home, it's our house.

One year ago...

Has it really been an entire year? Sam, thank you for gracing us with your presence. We love you eternally.
